We spoke with up-and-coming DJ, producer, and artist GEM. She’s on the verge releasing her latest track entitled “If I’m Honest” – the follow-up single to
Malibu – from her forthcoming EP. Read the full interview below.
– What inspired you to start creating music?
Creating music is in my DNA, it has been something I just can’t not do. It’s my everything, my safe house. That’s why I build songs that lift people up, I want to impact people in a positive way like music has for me.
– How would you describe your style or approach to fans?
My style is retro-electro pop with an alternate spiritual/ new age edge.
– What can you tell us about your newest track ‘If I’m Honest?’ How did the track come about and what do you hope listeners take away from it?
If Im Honest is my second original single from my upcoming EP. It’s written about a twin flame connection, I hope listeners feel a connection with the crown chakra, I hope they have a sense of chilled romance and Surender. Its an optimistic feel good track – thats the key thing, that listeners feel good.
