An Interview with Pravi Lopov

What inspired you to start making music?
I was lucky enough to stumble upon a techno club at 17 and the music immediately resonated with me. From there, I began DJing and producing my own tracks, constantly exploring and experimenting with new sounds.

What can you tell us about your latest release?
My latest album is a personal project that reflects my love of fantasy worlds and storytelling. It’s not meant to be a grand statement on the future, but rather a small piece of my own imagination that I hope listeners can enjoy and relate to.

How did the album come about?
The album came together slowly over a period of two years. It was a gradual process of gathering ideas, refining them, and weaving them together into a cohesive narrative that I’m proud to share.

What do you hope listeners take away from it?
My main hope for the album is that it can provide a fun and immersive experience for listeners. I want people to be transported to a different time and space and enjoy the journey. Ultimately, it’s up to each individual listener to find their own meaning and takeaway from the music.

Which artist, dead or alive, would you love to work with?
As an artist, I’m constantly inspired by a wide range of musicians, but one artist whose work has had a profound impact on me is Nicolas Jaar. Although I know it’s unlikely I’ll ever have the opportunity to collaborate with him, I continue to learn and grow as a musician by studying his work and incorporating elements of his style into my own music.

What do you have planned for the rest of 2023?
Currently, I’m working on a project that I’m really excited about. As a visual artist using my real name (Jasmin Kruezi), I’m creating a walking simulator game that incorporates both music and storytelling. My goal is to provide an immersive experience that will captivate the player. Of course, it will be some sort of Sci-Fi game. 🙂
