Auto-Pilot – ‘Casio Days’

Auto-Pilot formed in Barnsley, UK, in the 90’s around the music of Adrian Collier. Initially releasing debut electronic album Ocearina and touring around the UK until the Millennium.

Reforming in 2007, Adrian continued on with several releases via a number of labels and made steps into Europe with such gigs as support to Kraftwerk founder member Michael Rother in 2013.

Legendary UK label Flicknife released the album 8-Zero which featured an experimentation of 80’s style synth pop, this paved the way for the current release Freak Electric, a hybrid of indie synth with that distinct Auto-Pilot sound.

Freak Electric is the 5th album from Auto-Pilot released via broque, the German based electronic label. Its 12 tracks deliver a mixture of indie synth and synthpop styles with a nod to the early days of synthwave.

From this excellent album comes the strangely commercial sounding ‘Casio Days’. A foot stomping tune that hooks you in from the start, wanting you to sing along, reminiscing to days of innocence gone by, an era of hanging out with friends, having fun without a care in the World. Shouldn’t every day be like this…
