Ellsworth is the new, self-titled album from folk singer, Ellsworth. Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Megan Ellsworth started playing music at the very young age of 8, when she first picked up a guitar. Following numerous years of learning and working hard in music, Ellsworth has just graduated in Music Business and Songwriting.
Ellsworth is Megan Ellsworth’s first full-length album. The album is full of songs that were written in her college years and share the artist’s ‘unfiltered emotions.’ An album that resonates with music like First Adi Kit, Ellsworth is a must-listen-to for any pop/folk fans out there. Ellsworth notes that each of her songs has all share the same aim: ‘To actively grapple with the deeper aspects of humanity, with the complicated experience of being human that we all know and can relate to.”
Ellsworth’s music has been steadily gaining more and more recognition. In 2020, the artist won the year’s Songwriting Contest in the Music And Entertainment Industry Studies for her song, ‘Close the door.’ Previously, Ellsworth released two EPs, Now I can See (2015), and Salutations (2016).
Ellsworth opens with the track, Anxiety, a beautifully written piece that perfectly displays Ellsworth’s singing ability. With a simple acoustic guitar riff throughout and esoteric vocals, Anxiety will actually be the perfect accompaniment for a chilled night in. Growing Pains showcases the artist’s ability to fuse traditional folk elements with more creative musical ventures. The guitar track in this piece is perfectly poignant. Daydream is another significant track that will leave you feeling all sorts of emotions. Daydream showcases Ellsworth’s beautiful and delicate vocals perfectly, coupled with earnest lyricism. The last piece on the album, Overboard, is a haunting and endearing track that perfectly concludes the entire album.
