Canadian based artist VILIVANT is Hard Rock and Alternative musician that is gearing up to release her latest single. Her new track, a cover of the R.E.M. song, “Losing My Religion,” will be released on March 5, 2021. This both pays homage to its origins and showcases the flare of it’s newest performer in an amazing light.
This new rendition of “Losing My Religion” showcases VILIVANT’s attention to detail. She does an amazing job of making the track truly her own, without losing sight of what made it an R.E.M. hit. It is the perfect mesh of new and classic.
“I always liked the original song, but I’ve always heard it as a dark piano like ballad. So, I brought the idea to my band and we came up with many arrangements until we found the one that best fit what I was going for. To re-arrange a classic song like this scares me not going to lie! I know a lot of people are very close with the original, but I just hope that you will listen to it in a new light. This is my take on the song.” VILIVANT states.
VILIVANT attributes her style to artists such as Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless and Three Days Grace. While she has not been a part of the industry for very long, her talent has allowed her to thrive in the world of Rock music. VILIVANT has had two songs reach the top 100 Canadian Rock Radio charts since 2019, and her skills make it likely that her new song will be just as popular.
