Chicago based multi instrumentalist and producer, The Mietus Touch has recently released his debut album, Transcendental Souvenirs. With a fun, funk based bedroom pop sound, this artist has truly shown off an incredible style and intricate sound. His debut album does an immaculate job of sharing who The Mietus Touch really is.
As an album, Transcendental Souvenirs tells the story of friendship, love, heartbreak and growth. Tracks like “Digits” showcase the emotions of the project in an easy to listen to and sultry kind of way. This track in particular has a brilliant sort of energy that keeps dragging you in for more. It is gorgeous and feels as modern as it does classic.
“Edge of Heaven” is another track with a unique beat and interesting lyricism. The song is sweet and sultry in a beautiful style. The synths in this track are energetic while the rest of the track has a smooth, almost soft feel to it. The Mietus Touch does an amazing job with this track and as well as the rest of the project.
Transcendental Souvenirs is as good as it gets when looking at a debut album. This project has insightful lyrics, an intriguing beat on every track and presents itself in a way that anyone could find something to love about it. This album is simply amazing.
