The Sometimes Island, a synth pop band based out of LA, has recently released their latest single “Phantom Limb.” This track has a soothing but upbeat sound to it that contradicts the heartbreak of the story that comes with it. The song discusses the common but painful effects of addiction to someone you loved.
Frontman Matt Blankenship Jr discusses how the song came about, explaining how “addiction is the story of tragedy” and that “tragedy is always rooted in inevitability.” With a beautiful and relatable storyline and a beat that you cannot get out of your head, this song is truly one for the books.
