Los Angeles band Zumbi has a unique sound that pulls a collection of sounds into an R&B meets Rock type style. It is truly something magical. Their new album Ahead of Time does this in an amazing and detailed style. With 14 different tracks, they create a new world in each song. This album is something like you’ve never heard before.
The song “Desert Flower” specifically stands out in this album with a particularly dreamy feel to it. This song has a funky energy that sits just under the surface of a ballad. It is both familiar and new in a gorgeous and easy to follow beat. It is truly an amazing listen.
Another amazing addition to the album is “25 Fires”, another song with a glittery, nostalgic feel to it. This song is spiritual and flowy with a fun, funky beat to go with it. It’s a terribly easy listen and so much fun to vibe to. Both of these tracks are simply flawless.
“Desert Flower” and “25 Fires” are not the only tracks to check out on this album. Zumbi has truly outdone themselves with Ahead of Time. It would be a mistake not to check out this album and the other works of this artist. Zumbi’s unique nature is truly like nothing you’ve ever experienced before.
