Giving a Purpose is a motivational podcast about bridging the highs, the lows, and the lessons learned through life’s journey. Whether it is how to track your goals using lists, or reframing a tragic event like the death of Kobe Bryant into a source of motivation, each week the uplifting Mr. LA dishes out practical tips and advice for taking your life to the next level. We spoke with Mr. LA about the process of getting started and what’s to come.
What can you describe what the Giving A Purpose podcast is about and who it’s intended for?
The Giving A Purpose Podcast, is a project that through stimulating podcasts and thought provoking conversations with guests provides everything educational, inspirational, informative, and motivational for high school students, young adults and adults.
What inspired you to start it?
A couple of years back I had a mentoring program that helped high school and college students. I just thought that a podcasts would reach more people that way.
Is this the first podcast you’ve created? If so, what’s the learning process been like?
Yes this is my first podcast. The learning process has been a journey. I am just enjoying the process and looking forward to learning as I go.
Now that you have about 20 episodes under your belt, do you feel like the podcast has improved since the start?
Yes, I definitely see improvement. Each week I learn something new to make the podcast better.
What’s been your favorite episode so far?
My second episode. I did an interview with a mental health therapist. I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback
What do you have in store for the rest of the year for the podcast? Any goals or notable guests?
For the rest of the year I want to get better. I want to move up on the Apple Podcasts list. My goal is to have 1 million downloads and subscribers. So I have lots of work to do….lol. No notable guests yet but I am working on it.
